a bit OT - but business nonetheless . . .

My wife runs an upmarket Hairdressing business in Glastonbury - she started it some 14 years ago and its very exclusive and successful - she is a stunning Hairdresser (amongst other things)!
However, finding the right staff, as in any business with standards, is a total nightmare - so I am thinking . . .
Glastonbury is a nice place to live
People are friendly
The countryside is stunning
Would be a good place to relocate to
We would look at ANY Hairdressing background, ethnicity, age etc etc
The opportunity we are offering is excellent
How would we go about spreading the word that we are looking for some qualified staff, further afield than just the locality without MAJOR costs?
Ideas greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure asking your clients works in hairdressing? One would hope ones client's aren't using other hairdressers I'd imagine!
Presumably there are trade journals? How about pricing an ad in a national trade journal?
Alternatively, what about ads in the local papers of the bigger cities - the Bristol Evening Post and whatever the Bath paper is called - you might get the attention of people who are not too far away from you and might be prepared to move?

an advert in Polish Express is a good start - young people these days have too much attitude, are lazy and dont want to learn a trade - its quite frustrating - they also go off sick whenever they feel like it and with a full days work and 1 hours notice of sickness - what are you supposed to do?
Rant over - now where's that wand?
