Wnat to build a kit car for the missus to play with.

have 4 problems- i have to be able to fit in it (and i'm a big big chap- 6ft 2 and 24 stone), it must be useable- ie haev a smal boot and a good roof, the kit must cost under £10k and the car must accept a rover V8 (i am going to be using an LS1 which i have lying round and that will fit in the same space as a rover v8 usually)

i fancy a seven a like, a fisher (or similar), bascially something small, fun and preferably topless (just like the missus then lol)

whats the biggest 7 width wise? is there anything i should have a look at?

I think the requirement for a roof is going to severely limit your choice at that price, unless a hood is sufficient. No offence intended but your size may also limit your choice somewhat as it will preclude you getting in / getting comfortable in a lot of the regular choices, especially most of the Sylva based cars like the Striker, Phoenix and Fury which are narrower than most, especially the first two.
MK Indys have a bigger cockpit than most though, and the bonnet line / chassis depth is also higher than most so they'd certainly be worth looking at. If you need bigger than that then the only thing I can think of is the Luego Viento but that is HUGE (imagine a Caterham scaled up by about 50%!) and must weigh a lot more than the regular Sevenesque cars.

no offence taken- i know i'm a lardy bugger

i have been out in a fury and they aer just TOO light for me- my weight makes too big a difference to the performance and handling- they are a touch too small too.

having said that our main car is an MX-5 so i'm not that huge lol

wll have a look at the indy- hadn't thought about that one.

I have an Indy and IMO you'd be insane to put an LS1 in it as the chasis simply isn't up to that kind of power.... maybe the WLR with a beefed up chasis?
