Company outline
Cloud Amber is at the very forefront of traffic and travel technology and has experienced considerable growth since establishing in 2006. Our sales growth has been consistently high with our efforts rewarded with large contracts being awarded. To meet this expanding growth we now require additional expertise.

The technologies we design, develop, support and train vary from real time embedded software, server data processing & prediction algorithms through to relational databases and OLAP cubes. C++ and C# .Net are the primary languages underlying our products.

The right candidate
Experience whilst working in your chosen field in a travel or transport setting would be a distinct advantage, but overall we are looking for the right person.

You can be based anywhere in the UK mainland and will work remotely. Full expenses will be paid for any equipment or travel that might be required.

Experience and qualifications are not essential. We value intellect, guile, an open attitude and a personable approach. We are looking for candidates who take responsibility, make decisions and see items through to resolution. Joining our team would suit individuals willing to prove themselves in a high-pressure and rewarding environment, with a growing entrepreneurial company.

We have the following roles currently available:

C++/C# Software Developer
Working on a brand new real time travel information product, you will bring your considerable data processing and number crunching skills to a complex, data rich development. Using .NET with either C++ or C# you will develop from scratch a cutting edge product that will revolutionise the way people see and use transport information in their normal daily lives.

Working with customers, geographic information systems, open source libraries and Cloud Ambers unique data model, you will be enhancing and enabling systems to produce the clearest travel information possible to allow travellers to make real time informed decisions about their journeys

Responsible for all elements of the development, you will see projects and systems through from inception to maintenance in a challenging, rewarding and fast moving environment.

This position is currently only for a 12 month contract, however we will make the position permanent for the right person. Excellent career opportunities are available in this fast growing, dynamic young company.

Given the highest level of candidates we are looking to attract to this position we are offering packages worth up to £60,000.00 per annum for this role.

What next
Please send us your Curriculum Vitae, together with a covering letter explaining why you are the perfect person for the position. For permanent positions, only EU citizens or candidates who have a suitable work permit.

Bloody hell, for a change, a company struggling to find a worker as opposed to a candidate finding a job.

I looked for 2 and a half years for an IT related job considering my extensive background in computing including background, but I was being snubbed for not having experience even though I had everything for the jobs.

I would have applied for this job any day of the week but am just in the process of opening my own busienss.

Good luck matey,

Thanks for the post. We have just recruited someone for a Project Manager role I meet on a Furball driving holiday. He had only a few years consultancy experience but with a large brain and a good attitude, he was perfect for the job.

Sounds like an interesting job. I have significant experience in software development, primarily relational databases and Java. Is C# experience a must or would someone with Java experience (very similar) be considered?
