I've been playing Forza 2 for a while now but have only just ventured online with a mate of mine. Having read the other threads about the type of racing other PHers take part in, it all sounds a bit advanced and serious at the moment and I don't want to be the one to ruin it for everyone by having/causing accidents!

After having a few races with random people and with CPU players, we thought it might be worth trying to recruit some other 'beginners' to have some races against. Something we're keen to have is close and competitive racing which will allow everyone to learn something about the tracks, cars and way others drive, as such I've been thinking about something along the following lines:

15 to 20 lap races on short circuits that everyone will have come across in the game in order to give plenty of scope to catch up after offs and time to watch and learn from others.

D class cars possible with a power limit (200Hp?) to put the emphasis on handling and set-up rather than all out speed.

Damage, tire wear and fuel consumption on to encorage clean racing and the use of the pits when accidents require.

3 races in a series, maybe 1 short warm-up (5-7 laps) and 2 longer ones (15 to 20 laps) so that it takes about an hour to complete.

Although clean and fair racing would be the order of the day, the odd bump and bit of paint swapping would be accepted as part of the learning process so wouldn't be particularly criticised providing its not malicious, avoidable and repetative.

What do people think, is anyone interested? If you've got any (helpful) suggestions please let me know and maybe we can get some good racing going!

A lot of the old regulars have drifted off to other games, your approach is pretty much the same as most of those races in the good old days of first launch, we were never "that" serious, often taking each other off(accidently), i'd love to join you guy's in a longer race as I missed the indurance races the first time roundsmile

Sounds like just what i'm looking for. I'm in, although we could perhaps increase the classes as people get better.

GT = WildCards26 if you want to add me.

Increasing the class, points and power as we get better would certainly be the order of the day! I'll add you both as soon as I've got the chance.

Sounds like a plan, I've just bought an X360 and Forza last week. Will have to sort out the full-on Live membership as I've only got Live Silver at the moment.

Tag is "UK Timberwolf".

Hi

First Post, but I would be well up for some "beginners" racing. Forza was th eonly reason that I got a 360 - and have been playing for just over a week.

GT - Gringo Furmigo

(edit for spelling my gamertag wrong - like a muppet)

Cheers for last night guys, was some good racing, although I was having trouble getting my headset to work properly, I could hear Timberwolf clearly every now and then but everyone else was just crackling. It became pretty apparent I need some more practice and a greater diversity of cars to race with.

Don't you get a month free Gold Membership when you first sign-up?

I think I need to sort out my garage and get a couple of cars but I'd definitely be up for some racing.

GT - Bromwich.

Just have to decide between GOW and Forza each night.

Yes, great fun last night - I desperately need to get some cars sorted out if we're going to race A and S classes again though, I was going through stuff I'd won and/or had available and finding out it was a really bad idea!

The big block Corvette on the Nurburgring was a bit wild, it went blasting past everyone off the start and I spent the rest of the race slowly dropping back again as I tried to figure out whether it was going to oversteer, understeer or just crab sideways into the wall without any reference to conventional handling traits in the slightest...

ive just got Forza and the XB steering wheel for my birthday, would be keen for some racing if some like minding folks are keen - as you say, somewhere that racing is encouraged but no ones minds if you harpoon into the wall after missing a brake point!

I'm 'Sintellins' on XBL

Just seen this - I added my name to the clean racers thread with apologies in advance for my inpetitude but this seems like a great idea. I'm up for it. Incidentally, only got online last night so how do I go about finding these races? Is it just by adding you guys as friends with Gamertags?

Mine : GMan Industries

You can either setup your own game and invite us to it or if you see anybody online playing you can select them from the friends list in the dashboard and of they are in a joinable session, just join smile
