I need to get 2 front tyres for the Tuscan, before I get the geometry set up done.
Currently the car is sitting on Avon tyres all round, with a 235/40/18 front tyre. (wouldnt have been my choice of tyre) and wondered what you guys thoughts were on sizes and alternatives. No plan to immediately change the rears as they have loads of meat on them.
I run Toyo T1-S on my Cerbera, (also 18" Spiders), with a 235/35/18 front tyre but with this size the tyre looks "stretched", although the rears, 255/35/18 look fine. The Toyos work very well with the Cerbera, but fully apprieciate the two cars can handle very differently, therefore tyres can make all the difference.
Your thoughts/feedback would be very welcome...

I have Toyo Proxes T1R's on the front of mine, 235 40 R18. The R's replace the S's I think. I will be getting 2 new T1R's for the rear soon (245 40 R18) but might see if I can switch to 255's. I think that the T1R's are pretty similar in performance to the GSD3 Eagles F1's or the Avon ZZ3's

I've just changed from Toyo to F1's all round.
At the same time I changed from 16" TVR to 18" SP12's
and new geometry set up.
Fronts are 235/40/18 and rear is 245/40/18
Because I had wheel size, geometry and tyre change done at the same time,
I cant say what has had the biggest effect but the total end result is fantastic improvement.
No more tramlining and wet road issues.
I know the geometry has helped but I get the feeling that these tyres suit me more.

I think a change to SP12's would be on my "to do" list too, they look great and are stronger and lighter. I think you can push to wider profiles too with the SP12's, not 100% sure though. Definitely recommend a full geo set-up - last time I did this on mine it transformed the handling and made me feel a lot more confident so it must have been out by a good bit I reckon.

The Silverstone Performance web site states that the recommended are
front 235/40 and rear 265/35 with possible upgrade to 275/35 rear.
When I got mine, they were very positive in their advice that I take
front 235/40 and rear 245/40.
They said this was the TVR Recomended size and that larger may require wheel arch area mods.
I think this advice was also a little effected by the fact I was doing a pit stop at Silverstone on the way to France for Holidays with no time for mods.
Anyway great improvement.
