...a streight question: who's more specialized on Rover V8 high perf engines beetwin the above 2 guys? and what's the most powerful current engine each of them build? i'd much appreciate direct experiences from those who drive one of these engines, with pros and cons, THANKS!

I dont know anything about RPI, but the best road engine i've ever had on my dyno was a V8Developments/Rob Robertson engine and the best race engine was by Jamie at CRE. Both are great outifts to deal with, no-nonsence and great value. thumbup

Think you'll find that rpi get their 'better' engines from v8D anyway. If I couldn't build my own I'd certainly go to Rob/Ray at v8d in preference to any other rv8 tuners.

Nothing to do with any of these companies but there is no 'name and shame' on here. Some people will post remarks but they will be removed by the moderators, hence 'if you're quick' you may read them before the mods do

edit to add Ray and Rob at V8d are very helpful

another vote for V8D, what these guys don't know about RV8s isn't worth bothering about and Rob is a cam guru

Ever considered John Eales? Very experienced and reliable engines. It will cost you a couple .....

V8D did mine last time, in fact Ray built it.

It has Rob's Stealth cam and I am absolutely chuffed with it. Would't go anywhere else and certainly wouldn't go through someone else to organise it, as i have done that before with a certain specialist from the south which meant 2 years later it was being rebuilt again.

Really great guys to do business with, Ray is mad about bikes, Rob is a cam/engine guru and it was a pleasure to go up and talk with them.

I could psend hours in their workshops, even just looking round Ray's very special bike collection.

No dount Jamie at CRE does a great job, but I can only comment on V8D.

I've got a powerfull 5.2 John Eales beast in my Griff, it's very strong and reliable. Pricing between RPI and JE is similar. Personnaly feel JE is a bit more custom. Can't say anything about V8Eng. They sell some nice goodies which I should have, for sure their engines are monster engines too. I would give all a call to find out about pricing and shop availability.

thanks all for your comments...these are the only facts i'll consider when and if i'll build my new engine.
i guess V8D and CRE seem to be the guys you'd choose with john eales beeing a bit over the top (and a bit over in price too...)...thanks/Giuseppe

Sadly add another to the "No's" camp

Thats No's, not NOS, by the way
