Just a quick question..Aside from the when, etc, etc

Are we waiting for 2 cars or just one new model? As an old Car magazine article talked about the M15 which was quite far down the development road and even pricing was fixed - see:-

"The M15 is Noble's slant on an everyday supercar. With it, the British sports car maker wants to take on the Porsche 911 GT3, but at £74,590, the Noble undercuts the Porker by £4500. By taking a swipe at Germany's finest, Noble is trying to elevate itself into the big league.

It uses a tubular steel spaceframe chassis clothed in GRP panels, similar to that found in the existing M12/M400. The M15 uses an evolution of the same bi-turbo V6 Ford-derived engine but where it differs is in its layout. Where the V6 is mounted transversely in the M12, the M15 adopts an inline engine layout. With it comes a lower centre of gravity and better packaging."

But recent Autocar stories talk of a carbon car with a v8. So is this in addition to the M15 and that car is being tweeked or M15 totally binned?

Autocar quote was

"Noble is doubling it's efforts to complete the M15..... well placed sources have told Autocar that Noble has plans for a more extreme car, combining carbonfibre construction and a lightweight V8, with a sub-1000 kg kerbweight."

I suppose you could read that two ways.

I agree - without wishing to ask you to reveal all - do you know if that means one car or two?

I read it that the tubular steel / GRP model V6 was the initial plan , but Noble decided to raise it's game with the Carbon tub and a V8 . I would only expect the latter to be produced (but what do I know !)

That's how I would read it.

I assumed we were waiting on 2 cars. One of them the M15 replacement, and another very track biased machine. However that is all speculation and how I have translated what Lee has mentioned.

Copy from EVO May Edition:

"The money from the sale is already being reinvested into the development of new models.

The final production version of the M15 will appear later this year, Noble says it has 140 orders for the 185mph 911-rivalling mid-engined junior supercar.

There is also a completely new car under development that could take Noble into another performance division."

That would indicate two models...

For sure, but come on why is this M15 taking so fecking long? In May "appear later this year"...its now September. Do we think this M15 will appear or could it have been binned for the "new car"??

I'd say the M15 has been effectively binned. I suspect that Noble's old backers wanted him to build something he didn't want to, and the new ones are letting him do what he wants.

Doesn't sound unreasonable - but there are two things I don't understand...

1) why not just say that?
2) with 140 orders for something that looked pretty much 99% done, why not sell the 140 cars, unless you couldn't make them??

I guess that'll never be answered.

Looked done. Hhmmmm. I bet none of the tooling for a production run was complete. Making one or two cars in a shed is doable. 140 is a different game.

Yes point taken about the tooling, etc and I suppose if the old backers paid for the design/build of the M15 perhaps there was some IP issues.

Although whatever the reason and the speculations, rumour and whatever why nothing is being said is simply crazy.

I can't see what would be so bad in saying "we fell out with the old backers, so I'm going to move on with a new car, should be done sometime in 2009, whatever.."

Is Lee still a director of this new business? Someone said that some directors reports were due for filing in August...

I don't know because I don't care to be honest. They might make a new car in the future, they may not. I really couldn't give a rats arse either way.

Its a shame though... The first cars were quick bits of kit it would have been nice to see what could have been done with some proper funding. The way it is right now it is looking like another British car company down the tubes.

I’m starting to think you are really thick or just stupid, you are choosing to ignore what people keep telling you because you disagree with them, and you are looking like a total idiot.

Like it or not Noble have an investor/owner who is prepared to fund/resource the design development of their new car, once this process is complete and they are ready they will release the car for sale.

You can keep appearing on this forum trying to wind owners up but nobody values your opinion or uninformed views.

If I was a mod I think you’d be gone by now you’re obviously just a trolling Arcensoredhole

Why is it you can take time out to write all this bullshit but can't give an informed opinion about if there is a car coming or two cars coming...

Its all very well saying once this process, etc, etc, when as has been pointed out EVO May 2007...M15...this year...

2PF, I think you were doing OK until you suggested there wasn't any funding - this is the one thing we ARE being assured of!

Adrian, whether being wound up or not, you seem to have a short fuse like that other guy on here - what's wrong with some adult debate?!

As an outsider it seems that this debate just seems to be a big row between clashing personalities rather than an educated guess as to what the new car will be like ? ..tell me I'm wrong someone ! confused
