Not right now, I have to say the tracker I have right now is awful, or at least the support from the company is. I'll be getting a 'proper' tracker next time...

  • Update*
I spoke to Adam at about half seven, he was with the Police in the locality of the bike trying to pin it down to one building.

Havent heard from him since, but hopefully they found the whole bike not just the tracker unit....

Not yet guys....the GPS locate was http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge...

I went down with a mate, and met the tracker people there, but they couldn't pinpoint anything via their RFID hand held trackers. The police were also there but unfortunately as we couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was, we couldn't get them to open anything

Here are the places we think it might be in (you can get to this area from the road, there is an underpass under the houses):

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge... (this is a steel shed - most suspect in terms of blocking RF!)
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge...
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge...

So frustrating, we know the area but not exactly where! And it's probably moved now.

Call me crazy, but can't the police ask to search the area? I'm sure only the guilty party is going to refuse a reasoable request...unless they happen to have a shed full of dope plants...

That's what I was thinking. Anyone who says "no" just make a complaint to the old bill saying you suspect it's in their garage. Won't they HAVE to have a look?

Sorry to say but if some unknown person came and asked to check out the contents of my shed I'd tell them to "take a hike"! Might as well ask "mind if I case the joint"?

Tell the police you followed a speeding motorist into the shed. That'll get at least 12 officers in attendance.

No, I meant that if you told the police my tracker thingy is telling me it's in there, then the POLICE could ask to have a look inside. I mean, if a poiceman knocked on your door and said that he thought there was a stolen vehicle in your garage, would you let him look? I would.

It's in their rights and the police can't take it any further! Someone would need to stake out the place (for how long?!), and that does mean we need to know what we're staking out, since the GPS may not be as accurate as I am showing on those maps - it could be round the other side of the houses, and might just be missed!

Trust me I'm as p*ssed off about it as you are frown

Just to give you an update on this, it has pretty much been confirmed gone now - the tracker company didn't hear anything from the tracker on Thursday or Friday. I've spoken to the tracker company and we are going to come to some kind of compensation arrangement, as it didn't work as it was supposed to. Basically they have said they don't want me out of pocket, and I've been given some details of what that means, but will speak again Monday and see.

Sorry to hear of your problems with the tracker system since your bike got nicked. I had a GSXR600 stolen in 2005 so I know exactly how you feel - obviously no tracker on my old bike.
Out of interest what do the tracker company promise they or their system will do? Is it that basically your bike WILL be found or something like that?

No, they don't promise anything - which is fair enough I think, they can't guarantee that it will be found. It's mainly the fact that the tracker was not working as advertised and this seriously contributed to not finding the bike, so they are willing to offer compensation in one form or another. How I am compensated is still being discussed so will update when that's sorted...
