PS3 on a CRT???
Discussion
Yes it should work fine, and still look good as there is a lot more to PS3 game graphics than just a bump in resolution. Obviously things will be better with an HDTV.
The only problem I can forsee is reading text and the like, in games and on the XMB, although as your CRT has compenent imputs (not just composite?) it must be a pretty top notch display with 100Hz gubbings etc....

Yes it was one of the last Toshiba picture frame 3 ones. Proper flat screen, 100Hz, progressive scan, and the proper component (3 separate cables for picture alone with audio done separately), so pretty decent.
Fingers crossed should be ok then! I'll get the PS3 ready for GT5 prologue then.

Yeah I'm pleased with it, 36". It was a bit of a bargain with £1200 off list, as it was meant to have been a reconditioned one from Toshiba Direct, but when I went to pick it up (all 76kg's of it!!) there had been a mistake on their stock listings and it was brand new-unopened! Result
I can see the appeal in the latest Sony's and Panasonics that are coming through now, but didn't like the idea of spending a couple of grand on a new HD tv whilst mine is still going strong.
