Not talking about the commute but anybody here not tuck their sportbikes away over winter?

I managed a few decent days last year over winter - chain didn't end up in great condition because of the salt but other than that, you'd never know she hadn't been tucked away.

Come rain or shine....
might just possibly admit to letting the train take the strain for the runs up North if snowy stuff is mentioned

Mine only gets tucked away for a couple of months in the worst of the winter. Basically, when there is salt on the roads.

yeah, wish the council had a www site to let you know when salt was going down - that's pretty much the only time I'd avoid riding...

Ditto. Used to ride all year round (two years ago, went for a 70mile blast on boxing day, roads were v icy!) but now that I have a nice bike I won't be riding when there's salt on the roads frown

I go for a ride when I'm bored, although constant downpours will discourage me.

Yes.

But Oh man... does it hurt when you've ridden 100 miles home late at night in winter! I don't mean the cold or the crashing... I mean the defrosting of the hands once you've got into your centrally heated house and taken your gloves off...

I used to stand in the kitchen at 11 O'clock at night after riding from Poole to Reading trying not to scream from the intense pain in my hands.

Oxford heated grips and HG lobster gloves, an unbeatable combination in cold weather.

Sounds toasty warm... might have to do that this year.

The handlebar muffs look like they'd be nice and warm too but might look a bit odd on the ninja!
