Okay chaps, more help needed please (you've probably guessed I'm new to this Kit car thing).

Car: 2004 Westfield Megablade (ZX9R powered).

1. I need to get the suspension checked out, as the car is fairly skittish and gets thrown around on even a slightly bumpy road (it may be that I'm just not used to driving a 460kg car), but would like to get a specialist to check it out, set it up properly etc as I've got nothing to compare it to (apart from a 911...). This is to the point that it feels as though it has a tendancy to veer from one side to the other on ocassion when things start getting a bit uneven. I live in Haslemere (nr Guildford) - anything nearby? Otherwsie, anyone further afield that anyone can recommend).

2. The car hasn't got a towing eye (which I think from memory I would need for most track days), and I can't find anywhere to attach it - any ideas?

Cheers!!

The easiest way to do it is to get the factory settings (ask / search on WSCC) then take those to a repuatble tyre place with proper laser alignment and get them to adjust everything to suit.

If not, a friend of mine might be able to help, he's based up at Dunsfold Park (the Top Gear test track) which is about 20 minutes from Haslemere. He runs a race prep company there and has built (and I think raced) Westfields in the past so should be able to do a basic setup on it.

As for the towing eye, don't worry about it. If you need towing in they'll just put a strap around your rollbar, which I hope is an RAC spec bar with the diagnonal brace and rear stays? If not then Id highly recommend getting one because the stock Westfield item thats just a simple hoop will be about as much use as a chocolate teapot if you were ever to require it's assistance.

What are the tyre pressures? Most people new to these type of cars run them too high, as they should be in the 15-20 psi range.

Cheers guys, Good point about the roll bar, I do need to get this sorted out as I don't fancy rolling it with the stock item. Again, if anyone knows where I can get this done and approx cost I guess I should get this soretd out.

By far the easiest way is to buy the off-the-shelf bolt on rollbar from the Westfield factory, otherwise you'll be paying someone to fabricate a one-off which will invariably work out more expensive and/or time consuming to sort out.
The ultimate if you can afford it is a full cage of course smile
