Anybody got any advice on the best speakers to fit in the standard pods. The std Alpine ones are terrible.

Other than that any ideas for better speaker locations?

Thanks

Get a decent set of components (MBL quarts, JBL e.t.c), just be aware that you may have to make some spacers out of dynomat for the drivers side pod because the fuel tank obstructs the deeper speakers. You can also get a pioneer bass tube with built in amp that fits perfectly behind the seats, and a couple of tweeters in the coin trays make a world of difference.

Have a look at www.caraudiodirect.com they are fairly cheap and will answer any questions you may have.

Hope that helps
Jim

I have a 111S with uprated speakers in the standard speaker locations, a set of 6x9s in a carpeted mdf box on the 'parcel self' , running off the same speaker wires as the uprated ones. Then I have a set of Kenwood Dual mag components in a piece of carpeted mdf, cut to the shape of the recess in the dash. It has to stand proud because its not really deep enough even for the Dual Mags, there is no way any other speaker would fit.

Not enough bass but bloody loud when running off the Pioneer DEH 7300R.

Check out www.elises.co.uk/components/s1/audio/index.html

for some ott audio info

my car came with uprated speakers.
The standard ones had been replaced, and the new ones sit about 1.5 inches proud of the back.
The guy has also got a sub in a box inbetween the back seats, amp in the boot!
Man does it have bass!!!
I'll have a look in the morning and see what make they are.

Jimnbo,
I am tempted with the tweeters at the frount, but doesnt it make the sound werid only highs coming from the frount?
