Right, a little question for all you Yorkshire folk.

My son has a Ford Puma and while he loves the car he doesn't particularly like the seat colours. He is interested in recovering the seats with an alternative colour. He doesn't like the wrap over elasticated cheepo type but doesn't want to spend out on new seats.

Are there any companies around that will recover car seats for not silly money or is it so specialist that silly money is the norm?? We live in Brid by the way.

Cheers

Peter

The Seat Surgeons 01904 795092

Think they're on the Millfield industrial estate on the York ringroad at Poppleton. I cant vouch for this guys work personally but, he once quoted me for recovering some seats, door cards, steering wheel etc. in leather a few years back and seamed a fair price and the work I could see around his shop looked good.

I know Glyn waxmaster will recommend I guy (Martin rings a bell) from or near to Malton but I dont have his details.

HTH.

Cheers Leigh, helps a lot. I'll give them a call and wait for Glyn for the other details if he picks up on this. If not I'll phone him smile

They have recovered my mums interior on her plane, sevaral aircraft have had the interiors done by them. Very good quality work. Well I think it is them, unless there are 2 places next to each other.

I'll get some pictures this weekend

Don Barr & Sons (Car Upholstery & Coach Trimmers Hull) have done some repair work for in the past, very good work at a reasonable cost. They are always stacked with work (usually a good sign) so might be worth talking to them.

Thanks Adam, that makes three places to try. Variety is the spice of life and at least I can let my son do some phoning around. All relatively local too!!

So far only been able to contact 'seat surgeons'. £795 for the whole interior which I thought was pretty good. My son however is still breathing into the paper bag laugh

Cheers Glyn was going to phone you!! Must get the Scooby sorted for a spiffy service from you. The Noble still gleams (when its washed of course frown ).

Sons Puma is back to the paint shop Friday a slight problem with the lacquer coat and I noticed while he was washing it today some orange lines under the repaired paint. I must get Copmanthorpe to sort them at the same time as they have only appeared since the work was done. A bit disappointing really. Still, hopefully they'll sort it out. Once it's all sorted I'll get you to do that as well!!

Peter

As expected Copmanthorpe more than happy to rectify. Turns out it has happened to a few silver cars after they changed the filler/hardner type. Now back to usual stuff so should be no problem. They are a good bunch and did, this apart, a great job. Just thought I'd add this for info.
