I suspected the afm maybe an issue on the griff so down the breakers for another one to try. There have been several non conclusive posts whether the 5am can be a direct swap for the older 3am? The only decent one I could find was a 5am of a 90'2 jag. I can confirm that they do appear to be directly interchangeable, both fit and running characteristics. Unless of course somebody else knows any different? for some obscure reason.

I took a risk on it earlier and fitted it, drove around for 15 miles to test. I could sense no performance difference between the two types at all, so I guess they must be functionally identical.
