Group buy on AP grooved disks
Discussion
I have had a chat with Jon at Questmead, re the grooved AP disks.
For a single disk quoted price is £187.62, for a group buy of 10 sets it drops to £171.99 per disk(plus vat)
This is a saving of nearly £100 per set over Plans price, which I think is quite good value.
If anyone is interested please add your name here.
I have posted this on Nobleparts.co.uk as well
So far we have 5 confirmed "yes"
I am doing this just to try and reduce the cost of the disks, I will make nothing out of this, so if anyone can find a supplier cheaper...fell free to post it here.
Cheers
Alex

We're looking at adding Noble to our repertoire, and we're an approved AP Agent. I'll see what I can do tomorrow morning, if it's a goer, I'll post back in here.

So....can you better the £171?? I have been phoning round and so far all are more expensive...Sure there must be a margin in these.Mike

What spec disc is that for exactly, that's a phenomenal price, such that I'd say someone has mis-calculated or it's for a different disc?If you can get me an AP Racing part number for that, I'll check back and see if it's suitable or not?

be aware that grooved disks can make a vibrating / humming sound when you apply the brakes and you can feel vibrations throught the pedal
how many grooves are in each disk and are the disks curved or straight cut ?
Drilled discs are usually noisier than grooved, these are an 8 groove curved groove disc with the grooves running out to the edge of the disc. you shouldn't feel any "vibration" at all.how many grooves are in each disk and are the disks curved or straight cut ?
Mike.

Ahh, OK.
I can't see how on the strength of that they're getting the prices that low though, only thing I can do is approach AP with the numbers and see if they'll give me a better price based on quantity?
We work with AP on development projects and even they won't let me buy OEM discs for the Noble, AP discount structure is minimal to say the least, even to us as a fully authorised official dealer. Retail on the grooved discs is £208.00 +vat each
The rear discs are a Noble only part, but I "think" that if I commision them to cut some curved grooves into them, they may issue them with a seperate part number? Matching fronts and rears then available.
Let me know likely numbers and I'll see if I can squeeze a bit more out of them next week?

I am interested in a full set, front and rear AP grooved. Unfortunately for me, that means the ole USD to L conversion, and then shipping, but even still, the UK is the only place to get them.
Once ready for the purchase, please advise via email, and I will be ready to step in.

Have you guys looked at asking performance friction about a part that fits, AP disks are made of cheese, the PF ones last twice as long for a little more initial outlay, and are floating so better performance (though a bit of rattling).
Certainly for my car they do disks that fit the AP bells.

Cheers Nathan, will give them a call....I was speaking to Graham yesterday and he was talking about getting floating disks made...Maybe cheaper over time, just high inital cost.Certainly for my car they do disks that fit the AP bells.
