Best spot for car pics in Sussex?
Discussion
Myself and a friend are going to take some nice pictures of our cars at the weekend (sad i know, but nice to have for future reference). I probably won't own aother car as stupid, and at the moment he has 2 M3's! (hopefully not for long).
We're struggling to think of anywhere suitable, we're in the middle of the SOuth DOwns and Ashdown forest, obviously, a scenic backrop would be ideal. ANd preferably with few people, though i understand that might be tricky on a sunny weekend(and maybe even some nice roads on the way..).
ANy help would be much appreciated.
Rob.
P.S. If anyone can give any tips on taking pics of cars, that would be great (i will be using a digi SLR and tripod).

Other advice:
Do a recce of your locations BEFORE you shoot. Try to work out what time of day you'll be there and therefore which direction & strength the light will be.
Get up early. I mean REALLY early - sunrise has some magical light; also means there's less people around.

Some of the picnic areas on Ashdown Forest would be good, particularly on the road from Wych Cross to Colemans Hatch or perhaps Kings Standing with a nice open backdrop with some pine clumps in the background. Alternatively what about one of the lay bys on the top of the Downs near Beachy Head or the top of Firle Beacon.
As Trackdemon says - start early - not only because there are less people on the road, but also as above the light is much better early in the morning preferably during or just after sunrise.
It's also better to stick to an early start because trying to photograph cars in the mid-day sun is a nightmare, all harsh glare and reflections.

what’s wrong with uckfield, you could get a lovely back drop of the water when it floods.
there are some great spots where you can get un onto the downs behind the petrol station as you come out of Polegate and up the hill towards Eastbourne, no idea what it's called and then also between the long man pub(I think it's called that) on the A27 and 7 sisters there is a spot that has a good panorama. Also there you have Alfriston near by.
