Damn first pull
Discussion
Just been pulled over for the 1st time..
Tried to nip though some traffic lights on orange but they turned red and i got spotted by a lad in his ford focus with the yellow stripe.
He pulled me over and slapped me with the usual producer 3 points and £60.. it was a fair cop really since i knew i had done it.
He reckoned they were red for 1 second before i went through, i reckon it was closer to 1/4 maybe 1/2 second but anyway.
Im gonna pay up etc but since it was just him and no one else would there be a way of getting out of the ticket?
How long do points stay on your license? iv got 3 from speeding in 04 and wonder if they are still valid?
Cheers

If it's just him, how can he prove it?
No camera, no recording, no other people about.
Usual story of the police going into overkill, if it was literally red as you hit it.
I was pulled in Bristol doing something over 30 in a 30 zone, but it was a 30 dual carrageway at 3am, picking a very ill friend up from a nightclub! Chap was very nice, explained he caught me at 41, don't do it again, drunk people could walk in front, etc etc, and let me off with a warning. Seems the number of police officers able to differentiate between a genuine mistake and a cocky chav are dwindling ...
What's wrong with a slap on the wrist these days???

I hardly think it's police going into overkill. You know the law, if you go through a red light you get stuck on simple. Besides, what does amber mean? Slow down and prepare to stop. No camera, no recording, no other people about.

Amber is stop, unless to do so would cause a collision.
Red is stop & if you don't expect a fine/points.

I just think that the police are slapping out files/penalty points when sometimes a slap on the hand is enough. Jobs can be lost and lives royally b*****ed up if someone looses their licence.
If the guy was doing 50-60 mph in a 30 limit and flew through a red light in his haste, that's a bit different to a guy doing the speed limit and slightly misjudged the situation. It probably put no one at danger due to the other set of lights having their own 5-10 second delay before they go green ...

Green is best taken as expect amber and to stop.

Thank you, all I need now is that written on the back of my car, and people can stop mouthing insults at me, whilst stopped at the lights when i stopped on amber.Amber is stop, unless to do so would cause a collision.

Plenty of people think MLMing is acceptable, don't make it right
