Hi all - I've been looking around for a new toy...something a bit off the beaten track. I've been considering a Caterham...or maybe talking something old and British and upgrading it (TR6/MGB etc)...but what I'd really love is an 80s/early 90s Aston. The V8 Vantage model that was in the Timothy Dalton Bond films or possibly a Virage. Looking through Octane and C+SC I was seeing Virages for £20-40K...and the Virage Vantages for at least £55K. Are the standard Virages a bad choice? I've always kind of liked the shape but my girl friend just says Urgh to me everytime I show her a picture! Are they as hideously expensive and unreliable as legend would have it? Is the 80's V8 a better bet?

Cheers all,

J.

you could get a nice late 80's V8 Vantage Xpack for that - have a look on www.amoc.org in the sales section - loads to choose from ...I quite fancy one myself for a weekend/touring car
