Guys,
Does the Vauxhall bonnet badge on the Monaro have any holes underneath it? Come to think of it do any of the badges on a LS2 VXR Monaro have holes underneath?

Any recommendations for websites to get Holden badges?

Cheers

The one on the bonnet does not have any holes under it, not sure about the others.

Removed them all off VXR500. Use a hairdryer to warm badges soften glue and then run Dental floss behind badge to remove. Use a non abrasive body cleaner and should be no sign badge was ever there.

...sorry, I took the Nissan ones of my Zed too ;oP

Yeah , I used the dental floss trick on them... strong stuff as I actually cut off a bit of the moulding on the bumper under the Nissan badge

On a VXR you should replace with HSV badges rather than Holden.

I genuinely don't understand the need to re-badge this car.

1) what does it say on your V5? It says Vauxhall, no getting away from it.
2) if you change the badges to make it appear to be a car brand that it isn't, what does it do to your insurance? Best of luck with that.
3) why be so paranoid?

If you want a Holden or HSV go buy one, don't be so bloody sad.

of course nige its because these cars are originally sold as holden/hsv so thats what they shoud be here

personally I seriously dont get it. Its hardly a marque is it? Its Australias version of Vauxhall/Opel. It is the same as buying a granada and calling it a taurus or a fiat and badging it a ferrari or a skoda and badging it a VW

I actually find it quite amusing to point out to people that it is a Vauxhall. Generally this meets with some disbelief.

Mind you previous cars have included a Hyundai Coupe so could never be accused of badge snobbery smile

Unless the HSV badge flies off and takes someones eye out it will not affect your insurance!!!
I do not remember him asking for peoples opinions just advice on how to remove badges
I have not rebadged mine and might not but if i do hey thats my choice.

definitely down to choice and I dont think it adds or detracts from the car just I cannot get my head around it. Ever since 316i's were badged as M cars I've never understood it

I think that statement is a bit harsh. People here are not trying to make a 325i BMW into an M3.

I've had quite a few people extract the urine out of me because I drive a "Vauxhall". Most ordinary people in this country know jack about Holden/HSV so it can be quite cool having a car that's badged differently.

Whilst I haven't replaced any badges, the second thing I did after buying my car was remove the rear Vauxhall badge..........The first thing I did was remove the dealers sticker.

Perhaps he just wants to extract the max top speed and therefore take off the badges to remove drag...

Neither do I

So why did Vauxhall do it when they imported the Holdens into the country ???

Guess Vauxhall are sad for rebadging the Holdens in the first place ?

All the owners want to try and do is restore the car to its original pedigree.

Surely he is rectifying that which has already been done, it IS an HSV that has been rebadged as a Vauxhall.

sweet jesus, in that case why do GM have different brands the world over? Why in USA is Acura or whatever the brand we get Honda's under? I mean after all the are Honda's.

Are we to say Vauxhall are sad to rebadge the corsa as an Vauxhall instead of keeping it as a Opel? Vauxhall has a presence in the UK, Holden/hsv have zero. It would have been a brave step to keep them branded as such as most people would not know where to look if they were interested more in this Holden they had heard of.

The other issue is if people take the piss because you own a vauxhall but not when its a holden thats just becaus no one has heard of holden. If they knew in essence it was just another GM brand they might turn their nose up again.

I had a 350z, lovely looking car and a friends sister reaally summed it up. When she saw it first at a distance she was very very excited about it, wanted to go in it etc. Got closer, saw the nissan badge and walked away. That kind of sums up for me the kind of people you are fooling

Mazda you get upset when I call the new VXR8 the new Monaro, why? Same thing isnt it.

Not upset, just confused wink Same as when you call me Mazda...
I was taking the mick about the badge engineering, it happens the world over. The Astra VXR is sold as an HSV here.

Anyway, the VXR8 just isn't a Monaro, there may or may not be another Monaro yet, but that isn't it. I guess it is more obvious here, we have always had the HSV Clubsport sedans, then briefly the Monaros, now just the Clubsports again. To you guys perhaps anything of this ilk from HSV says "Monaro" to you?
