Are there many griff owners out there running tyres wider than std?I'd be interested in anyones experiences in running 255 or greater rears and greater than 225 fronts,on 18 and 17" rims.Cheers,Mike

Pretty sure Precat ran 255 on his 18" spider rears...

There was a Griff featured in Sprint a few months back you should check and maybe call the owner.
The owner had gone too big with the wheels, (wide 18" IIRC) found the handling worse and changed again for a 17" with a big improvement.
He said he had talked to someone developing Tuscans about 18" and these work with Tuscan challenge suspension, but not Griffs.

I had the Chim on 17x8,235/40's and 18x9,265/35's,that just sneaked in,it felt absolutely planted but it was running Ohlins that would of helped the ride out.
Ive measured the Griff inner wings and they are identical.
Speak to "Stevev8s",i'm sure he went through this exersise on his Griff.

Remember that offsets have to be related to the rim widths.

Not necesarily. If you want the center line of your wider wheel to be in the same place, then the offset doesnt change. You only need to change the offset if you want to move the centerline of the wider wheel, and then you can quite drastically alter the cars geometry..

20p fr 30p r,I'd go 35 on the rear if going to 265 as I'd get rub on the big bumps with power down.

Hi AJP Griffith

Just been browsing through the Griffith Book - there's a factory mock up of a sales brochure for a Griffith AJP in the Appendices - interesting that the wheel sizes are given as 16x7.5 for the fronts and 17x8 for the rears, the specification quotes the wheels as being six spoke and five stud with 205/50ZR16 tyres on the fronts and 245/40ZR17 tyres on the rears.
