Anyone got any decent sources of info on bladder tanks? I've spent the majority of the morning trying to squeeze a large enough ally tank (80ltr or so) behind the seats in CAD and have decided I've either got to move them to the sills, tow a trailer to put the tank in or find an alternative... so I'm looking for alternatives! Know nothing about bladder tanks really, other than a car I used to pit crew on had one and it stood up rather well to crashes.
As far as i know, they are rather expensive and have a short life. I may be wrong, but I think the Ascari has them, and they are a service replacment item at 3 years.
Would it spoil the structure too much to insert from below? - maybe have a rivetted panel underneath to restore some stiffness?

yeah install from below was about the only alternative - which in itself isn't too much of a problem but I was hoping to keep this relatively easy to do minor maintenance on - like changing the fan belts etc. Having to get the car high enough to drop the tank out the bottom of the car just to change a belt would probably wind me up a tad

Although they have a end life for racing they seem to last a lot longer than that. I had one on a car that was about 11 years old and still fine.
The only company I know who manufactures them are:
PREMIER FUEL SYSTEMS Ltd
(Fuel tanks)
Castle Donington, Derby, DE74 2NP, England

Thought of a dual tank.... main one behind the seats (60litres?) and another smaller one acting as a swirl pot elsewere?
No I hadn't - I'd considered twin tanks (50/50 split) in the sills but not an unequal split of any kind - Bloody good plan though, we now have one 56ltr tank behind the seats with a further two 10 ltr tanks either side of the engine - close enough! Cheers Andy BTW Did you get the pics I emailed?
Thanks for the details there Joe - I'll have a look into them anyway just in case.
