Having taken around 250 shots, some were complete rubbish, others were passable. My better (IMO) ones below. Equipment was pure and simple - Fuji S5600, and lots of batteries....it drinks them.

I didn't get many trackside shots from the banking as it was a tad busy and the lens isn't great for shots from such a distance.

C&C welcome, it's the first time I've used it in anger at a race meet, as I'm normally too busy working on things trying to achieve unsafe velocities!

I'm hoping to upgrade to a Canon 400D with some Sigma lenses in the next couple of weeks.

Ace set of pics. Artistically, I like number 29 best but the others set the scene. I can almost smell the nitro fumes.
Is there still a stand directly behind the start line? It was a good place to get covered in bits of rubber. Not so good nowadays with so many jet cars!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Ta for the comments, the barn behind the startline is still open (but there's all sorts of politics going on at present). The jet car caused a fair bit of rubber to land in my hair, and a mouth full of gravel! It was only a day trip for me, but the 6 hours of driving was worth it.

I have to admit, the weather yesterday wasn't fantastic - it didn't rain (which compared to the rest of the season, is a small miracle), but it was quite chilly and overcast, from start to finish. Luckily whoever controls the weather (the Chinese?), let us see some European records broken (Andy Carter's 4.645 ET record for example)....and several 6.1 second pro mods smile

Nice images smile

Particularly like numbers 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, and 30.

Personally, i'd add a little more sharpening to the images, particularly the more technical images of the engines. Would really make them 'pop' smile

( The 400D + sigma lenses sounds like a worthy upgrade smile Dont forget to take a look at the 20D / 30D / 40D range if you want to spend more than you originally intended winkbiggrin )

Nice!

We were there yesterday. I'll sort through a few pics and put some up later. We also were in the barn for the jet car's last trip of the day. We were covered in alsorts. I don't think we'll be standing there again!

Andy didn't backup the 4.645, but it did backup the 4.703 under the too quick rule.
