It is with great sadness that we report the death of Formula One after a long illness.

It is particularly sad as for the last few months many felt that the illness which had affected it for some years was, at last, in remission. Formula One looked healthier than it had in a long time. Many of us hoped that this was a start on the long road of recovery but we were so cruelly deceived.

A post mortum has been carried out. The doctor reported that, despite the healthy looking exterior, once the body was opened up, the corruption and puss burst out.

“It was so bad inside,” he said. “That I couldn’t find the heart. All there was was this massive red tumour that seemed to be everywhere, sucking out what goodness remained. We all new it had got into the brain some time ago but its influence was thought to be limited. We were spectacularly wrong.”

It is believed that there will be very little of the corpse to bury and lawyers will fight over every last morsel of the remains, as they did when it was alive.

A life-long friend of Formula One was particularly upset. “Me and Formula One go back a long way. Although you might not believe it, I remember laughing and smiles. I remember times when friendliness wasn’t frowned on. I remember a certain degree of fairness. Not much, but just occasionally. I know many will not believe this and think I’m just spinning a line, but I remember when it was a sport. In many ways I’m glad it has died. It was a relief all round, especially to Formula One itself. It can’t be nice living without dignity.”

The time and date of the internment has not been announced as no mourners are expected.

I think this might be an appropriate time to revive this....

F1 really is becoming a farce...

Farce? It has more viewers than it ever has and Silverstone is sold out for 2008. Wake up guys and stop living in dreamland of when Men were Men and it was ok for the great Schuey to ram into his closest rival.

On track it's fine except of course the desire to over regulate and punish drivers for every potential piece of contact on track after the event. Suggestions that Hamilton's driving is to be reviewed 4 days after the event! Plus all of the rubbish of who did what to whom with Luca and the performing red clothed monkeys!!

That's because the media are running on the LH bandwagon. If Lewis has a shite car next year (which is possible with McLaren's more recent history) then watch those numbers fade away very quickly.

The big numbers are not made up of real F1 fans, they are full of British sheep who will follow and support anything that the 'Red Tops' tell them to - look at the Diana farse, the Jade Goody farse...
