Hmmm, is my 406 an Executive or not?!!

Dumb question I know, it was advertised as one when I bought it and because it's got all the toys bar sat nav and is all leathered up I just assumed it was. However now I'm getting close to selling it I can't find any evidence that it is an Exec, there's no badging (dunno if there should be) and nothing on any of the reg docs. The only place it's written down is on my insurance form. So is there any way of determining if it is or is it just a state of mind? 2000 V reg 3.0 V6 Estate, 210bhp version with AC.

looks like you have actually got the 3.0 V6 which is a trim level in it's own right rather than an Executive.

Yeah, it's Parkers fault that I've got myself confused to start with, I'm sure they've changed their info since I bought the car

I rang Peugeot customer support today, seems they don't keep spec sheets for older models and suggested I contact my local dealer instead - wow, helpful! As it happens I need to get a new speedo sensor so I'll see if anyone at the dealer has a clue when I pop in for that.

OK, I got an answer from the local dealer.

dealer said:

The 406 V6 came in to models in that year, 406 GTX which had velour trim and the V6 which came with leather. The 406 2.0 was badged as an executive but this was down to there being more than 2 models with that engine so need to define the specs were as there were only the 2 in the V6 and badged the one with the lower spec. I hope this makes sence.

So it is exec spec in effect, just not ever badged as one as you suggested Iain. I did find out last night that I've got folding mirrors - oooh!
