Hi there,
I'll be there on the Saturday.
Planning on going to the LMS event at Silverstone on the Friday and Sunday so can only fit See Red in on the Saturday.
See Red is a superb event and always full of superb cars. Can't wait to the the Group C cars in action and I hope they repeat the Ferrari Owners Club parade that they did last year.
Regards
Tim

A friend of mine (who has 4 Ferraris) says they, the FOC, are not going to the event because the organizers won't let them park inside Redgate. This year it is Mercedes, Auto Union and the Silver Arrows etc. Let's hope there is a classic Mercedes parade and parking at Redgate.
Sometimes I think the VSCC in calling it 'See Red' have made a rod for their own back, as folks think it is an Italian car thing. It's not. It's a vintage car thing.

By the way BG, all the hooning from this weekend managed to deprive me of 67.5 litres of Shells finest

i lost 25litres of shells worst oil!!
Ive just worked out that with the routes we took to the venue, out of the venue and back home...we've covered nearly 300 miles

Some fun was had though!!!

Whats the situation with See Red? Would it be too late to get onto the circuit with the Burgundy Battlecruiser and set up camp???
I may just turn up if its not too late..bringing wine and single malt this time though

And some sarnies as that burger was both rank and overpriced

Just turn up and pay on the gate. Access all areas, so you can take the car into the infield through the tunnels. Camping probably in the car parks on the outside of the circuit as seen this last weekend.I have a ticket for Sunday only, won't be doing Saturday or camping.
I will be on the outside at Starkeys bridge, parked up in BG on the level concrete area near the large pre-fab shed.
I have been going to See Red from day one. It used to be all about Ferrari and was the main Ferrari event of the years. Then other events/shows was introduced into the week end and now See Red is its self a side show to other main events over the weekended, and the gate prices have gone up and up, and your car is still part of any display. I have watched it decline over the years in regards to what the event was all about which was a sea of red ferraris.
This year there will be an awful lot of ferrari owners who i know and including my self who are not going.
While i am on the subject of Donington.the last time i went to an event there. It was when they advertised that F1 live event earlier this year. It was advertised that the Ferrari F1s were going to be ran on the track, but they wernt. The 312t did not run, the 312t4 was under shelter out of public view. One of Gilles Villeneuve F1 312s was also under cover and never ran, also the #27 car of Burger was also there under cover from public view and never ran. Also the one in the world ferrari "snow plough" was there and never ran. Even though these cars were advertised as running and ticket prices were £25....they never ran. I talked to some of the Ferrari F1 owners and due to red tape and a poorly organised event they could not run there cars (5 ferrari F1s). Bloody donington. Any ways i digress

I have a vague memory that it had a mainly Italian focus at the start, but not exclusively Ferrari, they aren't really old enough as a marque. This is a VSCC event don't forget, and my recollection is of mainly pre-war Fiat, Lancia, Maserati & Alfa Romeo in the early days, although it has always attracted lots of Ferraris, naturally. But they are post war.Balmoral Green said:
