It had to happen whilst I was driving it too... I set off onto a roundabout in first gear, and as soon as I felt the crunching sound I knew what it was. Mrs. Witchfinder shrieked at me not to grind the gears, but I knew it was worse. I had to coast around the roundabout and into a fortunately positioned petrol station.

I very rarely drive the car, and get an earful if I give it any welly. Mrs. Witchfinder is a very smooth, fairly slow driver, so the car hasn't been abused. Fortunately the car is still within Ford protect warranty. It just seems like a fairly extreme thing to happen on such a relatively new car.

Wow!!!

Even if your car hadn't been under warranty I still would have been knocking on Fords door asking them to pay for it. How many miles are on the car?

Under 60,000. I'd would have been demanding at least a contribution had it been necessary. Thankfully, there's still warranty there. Very annoying though!

Wow! Must of been horrible to drive like that, 1 wheel drive!
Lukcily I had enough momentum to coast around the roundabout and into a petrol station. I wasn't going to risk applying any power with driveshaft ends flailing about.
