Yesterday , when 100 miles from home , noticed a small coolant leak and a hissing noise from somewhere near the base of the nearside of the radiator. No great jump in temperature so no damage done. Treated with radweld , filled up with water and got home , watching the guage like a hawk , but no problems .
What now ? Is it imperitive to fix /change the radiator , or is radweld a long term solution ?

ok for emergencies thats about it if you use it to much you will block your cooling system up with the stuff, not good get the problem sorted is the best way forward and will cost you less in the long run smile

Don't want to worry you but the wife's V8 Discovery exhibited the same problem and it turned out to be a crack in the engine block, leaking exhaust gases into the coolant system and causing it to spring a leak due to the pressure. On the bright side though, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about and is just a leaky rad!
