Westfield Wheel size
Discussion
Hi guys, this is my first post as a member, i've been reading the forums for a while tho.
I'm building a mx5 based SDV and i was wondering what the general opinion on wheel sizes and tyres for a westfield was i was thinking 14" wheels with yoko A048 or A032 tyres(i think they're the right model numbers).
Any advice would be appreciated

Yeah, I'd say you were on the right lines.
Obviously, the kit is designed to accept donor MX5 wheels, but anything suitable for the MX would be siutable for the Westfield as well.
Avoid large diameter wheels with ultra low profile tyres - they don't suit very light cars like the Westfield. You're better off with smaller diameter wheels with reasonably tall profile tyres, which give better ride comfort and more progressive handling, as a general rule.
I'd say that 14" wheels with 185 section x 60 profile tyres would be just fine for general road use.

Id go with 13" if you can fit them over the brakes, if not then 15". If you prefer 14" check out available tyres / prices before going down that route because when I looked (admittedly a few years ago) there wasn't as much suitable tyre choice as 13" or 15", and an equivalent tyre tended to be more expensive, especially compared to a 13" tyre.
I've got A048s on my Striker (and 14" wheels for that matter). They're fine on cold and damp roads, but pretty hopeless in standing water. Doesn't bother me as the only time it'll see that kind of water is if I get caught out somewhere and then they're fine to get home on (carefully)
