Just somthing for us boring Petrol Heads to chat about down the pub.....
Taken from October edition of Classic cars.

"An Independent test has shown that Tesco offers the best value high performance fuel. Thorney Motorsport used a BMW M3 CSL to compare Tesco's 99 octane unleaded fuel against Shel V-power 99 octane and BP Ultimate 102 Octane.

The results showed BP Ultimate, which is aimed at Track Day users gave the best performance, but at £2.42 per litre. The Tesco fuel, typically £1.00 a litre compared to third placed Shell V-Power also gave higher power and torque figures than the higher octane BP fuel at low revs"

Tooooooo many variables to assess on a RR on one car.

Different cars will repond better to different fuels. You have to do a lot of work to clean all the old fuel out before testing the next.

Tyre temp, pressure, strap down force, barometric pressure etc etc etc sooo many things to keep constant.

Only way to properly test it is a few different engines, T/C, S/C, high comp, low comp, active knock etc all on a highly controlled engine dyno.
