Talivan Question
Discussion
I have been fortunate enough not to be caught out by this income raising initiative yet but hope someone here can prove or kill a theory.
Can a talivan on a bridge over a motorway get all 3(4-5) lanes at the same time, or is their positioning based on what lane they are looking at?
Having done 85 in the inside lane from a mile from a talivan all the way under the bridge in the same lane early last year and not receiving anything I think they do not look at the inside lane.
Can anyone confirm or otherwise?
cheers

I don't know but I assume that when the LTI 20-20 is set on a tripod inside and aimed to some point 300-700m away that point would be the outside lane to catch the most income. It would be some trouble to move it to the inside lane even if the operator is observant enough.
Thats another reason why I always use the inside lanes if poss.

Sorry to jump in, but I have a (sort of) related question. Are all talivans Transit sized jobs? Whilst driving back from work a couple of day ago, I noticed a white Escort/Astra sized van parked very close to where a mobile unit is often positioned. It was parked in a very dodgy location, right at the point where one lane splits off a (40mph) three lane road, and had cones around it. The rear windows were blacked out, but there were absolutely no other markings on the van.
My only guess are that either some numpty had broken down in an innapropriate location and the plod had coned it off whilst the breakdown truck arrived, or they are getting more desparate to the point that causing a danger to traffic is ok.
