Well after a very long wait and some baffling red tape in the form of paperwork I did it.
I now have my very own 4.5 Cerbera Lightweight on a 51 plate with just under 15,000 miles on the clock.
It has a full service history and if anything it has probably been over pampered.
One thing I can't work out though.....
How the f*** are these things road legal ?? biggrin
Low on power or sluggish it certainly aint, I was expecting a fast car, not an aeroplane with it's wings clipped.
I took the car out and after warming both the tyres and the engine I decided to open it up a bit to see just what kind of power I had at my disposal.
I managed to shunt the back end out slightly (accidently) on a corner , so I have a feel for the traction now whilst not over doing things by any means.
I got no where near pedal to metal in any gear and the velocity and noise was surreal.
I learnt today just what all the fuss is about Cerberas.
Now I need to learn how to not look like a **** at traffic lights, as whilst learning to drive my new toy I admittedly stalled once or twice laugh
Great fun and I have a lot to learn and look forward to it.
Thanks to people on here for advice whilst searching for my car and also with insurance etc.
One delighted new owner.

Hi, welcome to cerb ownership!

Don't wish to sound patronising, but my alarm bells started ringing when you say you accidently got the back end out on the first day as these cars can spit you off the road in a blink of an eye. Have you had rear wheel drive performance cars before? Yes cerbs are quick, but not that much more on bumpy public roads than say an M3, only they're less forgiving!

Still, loads of fun can still be had biggrin

My first impressions of the Cerb (after jumping from a Chimaera) was that it wasnt as quick as I'd been led to believe, you have to drive the Cerb, the accelerator pedal has a huge amount of travel compared to other cars. Sit in it and press the pedal all the way to the floor just to see how far it goes. Then when the engine is warmed up, and you have a straight road in front of you, press that pedal all the way down - it'll make you smile.
And like someone else just said, if you've come from a front wheel drive car - take care, these cars can bite you hard !!

Hi and welcome to the fold. Hope you enjoy your car, but just be careful in the first couple of weeks. As others have already said, learn how to drive it and it will reward you, push it to hard to soon and it will bite.

Yes 'Alarm Bells' were ringing in my head too so I will not be doing it again for a while .
I have had rear wheel drive cars before in the form of old big engined Jaguars, nothing special and they were awfull in the wet so no doubt the Cerbera is pretty much the same.
What I should have pointed out was the fastest car I had driven until the Cerbera was my old Mitsubishi FTO, hence my astonishment at the performance of this beast.
I'll post some pictures in the next few days.

By the way, talking of alarm bells, engine did seem to be getting a bit warm on idle today what is the normal running temperature ? eek

Actually the secret is to achieve a normal-ish takeoff from the lights and not a tyre screeching boy racer launch. It took me a few attempts, not helped by jumping between three other vehicles.

I was trying honestly smile

All I wanted to do was pull away slowly and tranquily, but I found my self making enough noise to raise the dead.

I'll get there in the end hopefully.
