Given that there will never be another new TVR built, would anyone care to guess at what prices will do?
I'm undecided... Option one, Demand will always be high as there's such a following so the prices may even start to rise... Option two, as there's no new cars, they'll be out of the press and stop new blood coming through....

some will become claiiscs, some won't - relatively..

different sort of owner/buyer requirements fot that market.. ie

in 10 years i can see big demand for griff, and particularly sagaris's ie very few sags built..

perversly the more cars were made, ie lots of chims, doesn't necessary translate inot being the most desireable 10-20 years later.

You know something I don't? wink

Suspect that the rarer and desirable cars now, will eventually start to creep up in price. What makes me unsure of that however, is that older TVRs, with very few exceptions, have never realised decent money in the classic car market.

Well the demand isn't there as you've been trying to shift yours for months and it looks like a nice example. Sellers need to be less optimistic im afraid ,you cant price private sales at showroom prices, should of took my offer back in June . wink

I don;t honestly remeber anyone making a genuine offer, in fact no ones even viewed it???... For the current time, having just had her serviced I'll just enjoy it until a buyer comes along, sooner or later that will happen as I still look to be well priced compared to the opther 2005 cars..

It's an optimistic point of view, particularly wrt Sagaris. Another way of putting it is that very few were sold, because people didn't want them (for the record I think they're great).

What do you think is going to change in the future to make them more desireable (except a big price drop)?

Shame because they are loverly cars but im glad you turned down my PX offer as trying to resell it would obviously be a huge problem .

Ask somebody who has no knowledge of cars what they think of TVR and they will class TVR as an unreliable kit car. Ask them the same question about Ferrari and you will get a different answer. TVR have never been very good at marketing. We as owners know different though, so its probably a secret best kept smile

In answer to the question TVR's worth is relevent to the new cost. But selling one is a differnt kettle of fish.

Must admit, was quite impressed... 6k miles and a year, there was me thinking it was going to cripple me and....... not a thing needed to be done... Not bad, only problem it had was the 100amp fuse blew a few weeks back.... Not fun being standed in southend waiting for the AA but was a free fix!

Ah...a 1/2 full man. It's already happended, and its less rather than more optimistic wrt the Sagaris. Peolpe realise there are a finite and small number of possibly TVRs best car on the market.

Prices have hardened and dealers are offering to buy (not steal) cars when they are in for service - not heard of that before.

Interesting, The AA didn't know the first place to start when it happened to me last Sunday. TVR Centre loaned me the tools and I did it meself - free fix!

I said relatively, and don't expect to make any money...

griffs are only 6 years out of manufacture, and already one classic car mag has one ' as one of our cars' looks are timeless, etc will do well buy one look after it and if you sell you will proabably get a good price for it..

so it will be worth while maintaining properly, so most won't go on the slippery slope of neglect, etc

the sagaris, well that is just my opinion, they didn't sell many because the tvr shenaigans / uncertainty put people off ? on engine, wild looks... most car mags thought it the best tvr ever, most sorted etc. what happened with tvr killed all sales of all tvrs.

perversely in 10-20 years, they will be rare, unusual enough looking (in a good way) to be interesting) and limited supply...

the looks have even grown on me (dark mettallic ones anyway)

not saying you'll make money, but worth it as a keeper.

My beleif is that Griffiths in original condition with low miles will do well in years to come as that model was a turning point for TVR that put them on the world map. I also think that well kept Sags will not dip below £20K and may do better! There are a few criteria for furure classics that hold their money in my book:

1. A great car in its day that was well reviewed and received
2. A limited number available
3. A marque with a strong heritage

Hmmmm.....I wonder what fits the bill wink Trouble is, at this rate my Sag will be a high-miler in a few years because I love driving it!!!
