Hiya guys,

After seeing all the impressive cars last night and paying particular attention to their wheels - I think I have just about decided what I'm after...

So - can anyone suggest where I can go to get some new alloys! Ideally I'm looking for 17" multispoke black ones with a polished rim - all suggestions and makes welcome smile

Hi Anna wavey

A quick search on google brought up this website which has the Wolfrace Asiatec alloys and they have a lovely black multi-spoke with polished rim

http://www.raceandroad.com/acatalog/Wolfrace_Asia-...

Look for the "Kendo Black"

Theres also these, but I think they would look a bit harsh if they're for an MX5 wink

And these look good too

I know this might sound a bit sad, but the last time I bought some cleaning products from Halfrauds they had some nice black multi spokes with polished/stainless/chrome rim...might be worth a look? smile

Hey chuck smile

Im guessing they're for the impending MX5 correct?

What colour will you be going for or is it a case of whatever comes up in the spec you're looking for?

With regards to the wheels; Do you want proper black spokes with a polished rim or more of an anthracite look?

Drop me a piccie of the car you're looking for and I'll see if I can photoshop some wheels on it for ya wink

Thank you for the offer, it is for the impending mk3 mx5....it's white, so either would go - but personally i think i prefer black. It's so hard to tell though. I don't think I have the greatest imagination!

Are you sure you want to change them? Unless they are the same size and weight it could make worse the perfect handling.

I do like those dark OZ wheels though. Also try here

I do know from a friend who has an MX5 and changed the wheels (Im not sure if they're 17" or 18&quotwink and he said the handling changed drastically to the point where it became very skittish, especially in the wet

Seriously though, if you wanna drop me a piccie for photoshopping, feel free and I'll see what I can come up with for you smile

Yes I definitely want to change them, that decision is decided. I've spoken to mx5 people who dont think it affects the ride in a bad way at all, as long as you get good quality tyres

That could be where my friend is going wrong...hes probably got roadchumps or something similar, plus its an older MX5 too

I got the piccie, I'll set to work as soon as I get back from work tomorrow wink

The important thing is to only go for wheels that are the same size or 1" bigger than standard - and not too wide. Big wheels with very low profile, very wide tyres really screws up the handling and road holding.
The tyres are an important integral part of the suspension design and taking that compliance away makes the car very nervous and twitchy, particularly in the wet.
Standrad size or ever so slightly bigger really is the optimum for MX5s.
Polished rims with black centres would look very cool though on a white car!

I dont like the way the spokes curve in from the middle to the outside edge. Not quite the right ones on that one imo.

In my opinion the spokes look a little fragile and look like a fracture waiting to happen!

I like the OZs - particularly 'cause they are light wink and non-bling.

Black motorsport-derived wheels on a white car... hmmm... lick

Now they would look the business yes

Also, find the MX5 forum and see if they have any picture examples.
