Well, I had my first class tonight! There wasn't a lot of 'hands-on' stuff today, but I think it will be a useful course. There's a good mix of people there and I think the course is pitched at about the right level for me. We had a tour of the workshops, an introduction to the tools we'll be using and we got all of the inevitable health and safety stuff out of the way. I'll let you know how it goes.

May be worth asking if you have a particular job you need to do, I trained as a Bike mechanic and managed to get some of the awkward jobs (6 Carbs balanced) done as part of the course practical work, it also sometimes is helpfull for the tutors as they don't necessarily have all the equipment they would like to have to enable demonstrations.
Im sure a demo on a TVR would be of interest to the other students as well.

Last night someone asked if they could bring their car in but the course leader seemed a bit reticent on this. The workshop is already full of various cars for us to practice on and I think he was concerned that there wouldn't be enough space. He gave the impression that there are usually a few people who drop out of the course early on, and that we'd be better off waiting until then to bring our own cars.

I went straight from work yesterday (i.e. sans TVR) but once I've got to know everyone I might take the S along and see if there's any possibility of getting any jobs done on it. Somebody else arrived in a very nice professionally restored MGB roadster, which attracted a lot of attention.
