My M5 went in for service yesterday.
They gave me a 320i M Sport as a s courtesy car.

Its ride was appalling - I felt like I was riding a pogo stick down the M40.
Its steering wheel was also ridiculously thick.

Is it me being just overly fussy? It would certainly stop me buying one.

Funnily enough I got a 120d M Sport as a courtesy car a while back and I thought the same about the steering wheel. It was so thick it ended up hurting my hands at the end of the day and my hands ain't small!
Runflats are the tyre of the devil, probably OK on nice smooth european tarmac but over here not good.

My last car was a new shape 320 sport with run flats and 18" alloys and with sports suspension, it was shocking especially on country lanes

I think it varies by tyre size and wheels/suspension, I find the 335D with the 19 inch wheels and runflats acceptable - for me the reduced risk of a blow out is well worth the compromise.

That said I do not do track days and these days the car is used more as a commuter than a sports coupe if you know what I mean!
