Hi chaps and Chapesses,

This is my first PH post and i'm looking into buying my first TVR, so a true newbie!

Basically, i'm after some information/help...

I've taken a few T350's out for test drives and have fallen in love with one in a colour close to BRG, which looks exceptional in the sunlight, truly sexual... but there are a few niggly concerns I have... any help would be gretly appreciated!

1) The needles on the clocks judder - Is this a major problem to fix and what sort of money would I be looking at to get them fixed, Is it a case of a new pod assembly/loose connection/etc...

2) Rear 3/4 windows - Along the bottom of the window it looks as though ingress of water or the glass has lifted away slightly (the seal has gone cloudy) How easy is this to rectify?

3) In 1st gear at low revs the bootlid solenoid was going mentalist, as soon as the revs were incresed it was fine?! Presumably a loose connection, dodgy fuse, or perhaps something more sinister?

Otherwise the engine is smooth, the car ran beautifully and bottom line, I was impressed... As I say, however, small niggly problems pre-purchase are leaving me scratching my head. I've been looking at buying a T350 for a long, long time and i'm in no rush, but it seems the closer I get the further away I find myself!

Many thanks and regards,

Steveo

point 3 - probably solved by sorting out fuses / 100amp fuse.

does the current owner love the car? has the he looked after it well? has he warmed it up properly? if yes to these then its probably a safe bet.

good luck

To point one: How badly do the needles judder? Mine do it a bit but only very slightly.

Point two: Ive got a Tam and not a T350 but I've seen a few with this happen to that bit of glass so I don't think it will be anything to worry about!

As long as the engine and the car generally has been well cared for (warmed up etc) then its prob a good one.

Thanks for your help guys!

The needles were juddering by about 5mm, they weren't going crazy, but it's something I noticed and haven't before so thought i'd bring it up on here and see if it was a massive issue!

The car is being sold by a dealer (with FTVRSH) who assures me it has been warmed up properly and used regularly. It's had a new clutch and on a test drive yesterday was a real joy to drive. The bodywork is also fine, not even any stonechips on the nose especially as its an '03 (with none of that armourfend vinyl)

Dealer also told me that before the car is sold all niggly problems will be solved (including referb of scuffed rim), which is reassuring... My concern is the Code 26 AirCon fault and boot solenoid being an ongoing issue...

I personally wouldnt be happy with the needles vibrating either.

Mine vibrate about 1mm and so do most others I have seen.

Seems to me that unless everyhing is right when you buy the car - dont do it - it will only cost a firtune later.

There are plenty for sale out there so get a good one and dont let the dealers bullshit you.

good luck

You'll love it when the finaly get one !!!

Code 26 for the Aircon could be the fact it's switched 'on' in the computer settings, but not actually fitted to the car. My T350C doesn't have AirCon, but if i go in the system menus, and 'enable' it, I get Code 26 when I switch it on via the fan button!

Check for Heinz Beans sized tin bolted to N/S inner front wing under bonnet - if there, AirCon fitted, and you have a problem.
