17" wheels all round.

Sure that this has been covered but nothing to good found in the search.
I am contemplating going with 17x7.5 rims all round, seems that there is a better selection of tyres in 17" size. I have just a couple of questions.
What size tyres to fit front and back.
How do 17" wheels affect ride comfort.
How do 17" wheels affect handling.

205/45/17 front and 235/45/17 rear; ET30 all round should be fine. You may want to fit 5mm wheel spacers at the front.

205 is a bit narrow for a 7.5 rim.

Ive got 205/40/17 on my front and 225/45/17 on the back if that helps

I have 17" Team Dynamics wheels all round on my Chim 450 (together with Nitrons, uprated springs & uprated front roll bar + SHpub drop links & Wilwood 300mm front brakes). The ride is fine and the friend and Lotus 7 enthusiast I was ferrying round Brands last week said it felt "well sorted".

I have 205x40ZR17s on the front and 225x45ZR17s on the back, both Toyo T1-Rs. I haven't noticed any of this "running in" stuff that people have talked about with Toyos (although I caned the cr*p out of them at Bedford not long after buying them.)
