Me and Pwiggles where talking about de-cats.

and whether they gain anything.

from past experiance with FTO's they gain next to fcuk all bhp and lose alittle torque, but pwiggles said that WRX's without a remap actually lose bhp yikes
this true fella?

scratchchin I'd expect any turbo car with an otherwise standard exhaust would gain a bit from a decat. I think that often the biggest difference is in mid-range torque though rather than top-end power.

No cat means faster exhaust gasses which means quicker spool so more mid. If like on my SW20 your wastegate isn't quick enough at venting you'll see a small boost increase too giving you power through the rev range.

Certainly my spool time is significantly better without a cat. I also seem to have more peak boost, which means more power.
