Has anyone fitted Tuscan seats in a chim on here?

If so, is it a sound option, and what would a reasonable price be for secondhand items?

My Chimaera has tuscan seats in it, but i didn't do them, the car came with them fitted. The drivers seat slides forward/backwards on its runner but the passenger seat is fixed. I don't know any more about them but if you have any specific questions i can go out to the car and find out for you.

I'm told that they came in the last off the line chimaeras anyway BTW

Thanks

The last in the line Chims (the ones with the perspex light covers) came with Cerbera seats if I remember correctly... Apparently they are a good fit and look pretty good too.

I have a set in mine, they fit easy enough, but you do need to do a steel or alloy plate brace bar under the floor when mounting to give extra strength to the mounting points.

The rear mounts are just about an inch more back from the standard Chimaera seat mount holes.

You can fit a set in about 30 minutes if you have everything at hand.

They are a far better seat, my only problem is I drive to much and never take enough photo's, must take one this weekend.

Does anyone know if changing to seats from another TVR model would increase headroom in a -98 Chimaera?
I know that the 2001 Chimaera seats have a removeable squab, but does that mean that headroom is improved over a 1998 seat with the padding removed or just that it is worse with it in place?

When I bought mine earlier this year, it had the Tuscan seats fitted and as far as I know and from looking underneath the car last weekend as part of a chassis refurb, the absence of any extra holes would suggest that the seats are straight replacement in fitting terms.

The only thing to note is that you do seem to sit a little higher in the car and as a result, I found visibility was duly improved but if you are taller, this might limit head room further yes

Regards all.
