I have just sold my TVR Tuscan and looking for something more practical to fill the gap.

I took a 2007 5 series M sport with the 2 litre diesel and I was really impressed and was happy to look for one at the right price possibly an early one around 2003/04

Then I saw the price of the the 7 series circa 2002 approx £17 -20K

What would you guys pick, comfort, practicality and servicing that does not leave you feeling like the baliffs have just been round is key.

As much info about both models would be great to help with my decision.

Assuning your budget is circa 20K and your looking at a derv then the 330D Sport is a fantastic option and you will get a much later car for your money, personally i would stay clear of the 7 and the 5 with a 2.0 derv will be somewhat underpowered, though you might not realise this tiil you drive a bigger engined version..

I think you might have driven a 177 bhp engine which might be a lot different from the previous incarnation!

Anyway - How many miles are you doing? Would a petrol work at all - look at the spec on this beauty:

The 3ers actually tend to hold money better than the five.
