I have six points for speeding and a disqualification of fourteen days which ran out two months ago. 3 weeks ago, I was given three points for being on my phone so I paid the fine and sent the ticket off by post. However, I have just received a letter saying I have too many points (6) and will be dealth with by court......I thought you went to court if you are on 9 points and then get a ticket?

Many thanks with any advice.

Looks like someone doesn't know how to add points up from your Licence/DVLA record.

Speak to the office that sent you the letter and point matters out. They will advise and if you are right reinstate the FPN.

Cheers mate, it scared the living daylights out of me this letter saying I was going to court again this year! I have and sp30, an SP60 with both carrying 3 points and an SP30 that gave me a 14 day disqualification but no points.... Do you think this may have confused them?

why did you get a 14 day disqualification on the 3rd speeding offence? was it a lot over the limit? i would have thought the first two speeding offences were taken off once you got the ban?

One has to ask, with those points plus a very recent disqual, what the heck were you doing on the phone?

Are you a driver who has passed his test in the last 2 years?

If you have 6 points in your first two years, you have too many and will have to re-sit your test!

6 points will disqualify you if you are a new driver in that time period and you will then have to re-sit the test.

Just a thought smile

Well, i was doing 92 to get the 14 day disqualification and the phone incident was just a momentary lapse. I have been driving 4 years so am well past my probation period.
