door release

now & then the passenger side external door release doesnt operate; it acts as if the car is locked, which it isnt (well, shouldnt be!). Reaching in through the window, pulling the interior release, opens the door. Anyone had similar? I think maybe it IS locked for some reason.. so wondering if there's anything I can check

Hi Ed. Had the same thing on my passenger door just a couple of weeks ago. It turned out to be the solonoid had seized. Put a new solonoid in. Check out the Griff Pages Alternative Parts List and you will be able to locate the correct part from Maplins for around £9. Before you do this, it might be worth checking the courtesy light switch for a bad connection. Good luck. Craig
