No its not that easy, loved my grif shape, slightly dodgy from front corner, cerb was great from all angles,Chim is realy convertable cerb sort of, so therefore I should prefer the chim, but not sure.Chim has bigger boot, more room in there.....dont know ,not to worried about performance, just need a cruiser, that is bloody loud, and reliableish....Cerb not in decision, want rover V8

On that alone Id say get a Chim.

Personally I'd have another Griff smile

You will get a better Chim for that sort of money than a Griff and that's what matters.

Griff's more manly and hold the value better. Essentially the same car with different shell/interior.
Chim a convertable Cerb LOL

All of them hold there value if the condition is good ,as there are all old cars in real terms .
Just that you have to shell out less for a good Chim .
Remember there are a lot less Chim 500's than Griff's and becoming less as more and more cars get crunched and dog eared. Most Griff's are 500's unlike Chims .

For 12k you will get a good Chimaera or Griff, it all comes down to personal taste. The four litre Chimaeras values have pretty much gone through the floor and good ones are really good value but will still depreciate further in my opinion so go for the 500 in either and have done with it.

Drive both but take each individual car on condition as there are a few cars out there with chassis issues etc now so condition, condition, condition.

The exhaust part is easy, remove the pre-cats and sleeve the system, sounds the part whilst still passing MOT.

Good luck. thumbup

Just to add a simple thought process:-

Your budget will get a better cond Chim than Griff.
Theres a wider engine choice in the Chim.
Wider number and choice of models for sale.
Finally, without wishing to be biased (I love the Griff too), the Chim didn't outsell the Griff 3 to 1 for no reason, speaks volumes to me !

Entry level Chimaera was £4k cheaper than a Griff maybe?

Well I think the chims back end looks nice, kinda beefy from behind unlike the Tamora but its all personal choice.
