Hi all wavey

Don't get a chance to post many pic's at the moment but had a week in the Lakes last week so thought I'd share a few. After this summer to say we were lucky with the weather is an understatement.

Due to a tiring year I wasn't able to drag myself out of bed as early as I'd have liked for the best light but I made it out of the cottage just in time a couple of mornings!

Any comments welcome wink

Beautiful pictures.

It's the one thing I really miss about home, I live in Lancaster and have a great view across Morecambe Bay to the Cumbrian Mountains from my bedroom. I love the lakes, try to get up there as much as possible when I'm home as they are just on my doorstep.

Best time to go is in the middle of winter, especially if you can get a clear, crisp, cold day.

Lovely pics!

I don't know if it is just me, but the horizons / lakes seem to be a little skewed (with the left side lower than the right) which seems slightly un-natural to me. I remember making this comment on one of GetCarters pic of the days before - to my eyes it looks wrong, and as if the water in the lakes should all be rushing out of the left side of the frame.

Great pictures!

I love the Lakes and try to get up there 2 or 3 times a year. Photography, mountains and some great roads - my perfect holiday...

BTW... knew where most of them were (!)... but number 1 - was that from Cat Bells over Newlands & Little Town? (I was also there last week - though not on Cat Bells)... and 4th from bottom... Ennerdale or Wastwater perhaps?

Steve, we didn't get as far as Buttermere etc this time. Our cottage was near Brothers Water between Hartsop and Kirkstone Pass (just south of Ullswater). Ended up doing walks from cottage cos it was so quiet, beautiful etc without using car.

For anyone interested I've added locations by each pic.
