Really bored at the moment, got nothing in the garage to play with and the Landy needs loads of big money toys that I cant do at te moment.

Been toying with the idea of buying a scrap yard RV8 just to strip and rebuild.

Be nice if I could run it on an engine stand to prove to myself Ive done right too.

Anyone see any problems with this idea ?

I don't know if you read PPC but they seem fairly insistent that the rv8 is a relatively expensive engine to rebuild. Will from the magazine rebuilt a 5.0l ford v8 using a kit he bought from the states for a lot less than the equivelent parts for the rv8.... http://www.ppcmag.co.uk/staffcardetail.asp?id=21. You could then dump the engine in something or sell it on as a working engine. Whatever you decide to do I'd choose a cheaper engine to rebuild personally.

Something like this maybe... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-V8-HOT-ROD-CLEVELAND-35...

Real Steel are only just down the road from me too.

Now thats food for thought.

Absolutely no idea I'm afraid. The dollar exchange rate is definitely on your side if choose an american engine though. Good luck.
