The story:
0 miles, Jan 2007: Heritage: Classic Car Insurance. SD&P not commuting. 3,000 miles p.a.
3,000 miles, May 2007: Heritage: Additional 2,000 miles (5,000 miles p.a.).
5,000 miles, Sep 2007: Heritage: Additional 2,500 miles (7,500 miles p.a.).

In January I bought my Griff. I had no experience of a powerful RWD sports car, parked on the drive and factory fitted alarm immobiliser. I had no idea how many miles I'd be doing as I had not owned a second car for fun before, but 3,000 miles seemed reasonable. The best quote I had was from Heritage @ £460.
A few months went by and I realised I was using up my miles a bit quicker than I'd expected so added another 2,000 miles for £100, which I thought was quite reasonable. I also promised myself to leave it on the drive more often. silly
We're now in September and I've just about run out again - these Tivs are too much fun you know biggrin. Anyhoo - I've just been on to Heritage to get a quote - they said the next bracket is 7,500 miles. Off she goes to get a price, back she comes with ... £10!
I'm guessing it's because I was hammered initially because of my lack of experience etc., but now I have 5,000 miles under my belt.
Whatever -- woohoo

I had a similar experience when I was with Sunninghill. I originally insured for 6 k miles. Realised about 8 months in that I was going way over. Called the excellent Aaron and he upped me to 10k with no additional charge. Top service.

Went for 7,000 mile limit with Mannings for around £535ish in January, not knowing how many miles I would actually do in my first year of owning a RWD sports car. I was anticipating going on Megahoon hence the higher mileage limit but a house move has got in the way irked Have only done around 3,000 miles so far so I'm obviously not getting out enough scratchchin

Oh well, must try and get out for a blat this weekend whilst the weather is good yescool Anyone up for a hoon around the Cotswolds this weekend driving....I need to get some more miles under my belt?

Hi Ben - we should have a 'Wedding Day Hoon' revisited with all the guys who came last time? Put a post up on the wedding day thread when you plan to drop by Sarah's and we can organise a run!

Just been looking at quotes and Hagerty seem very good although they wont't insure me initially more than 6k miles, having more added on during the year won't be a problem. Also asked to add the girlfriend and they said no charge!!!

Good job - you need all the cash you can get with her!
Is she still mentioning 'Tiffany' a lot? You could always get her a CD instead of the jewellry ...
