VW Midline & Highline Computers - whats the difference?
Discussion
Guy's
Looking to spec my new company car, I've decided on the Golf GT Sport 170bhp. Looking to add a couple of 'extras'. (see this thread )
The main question I have is what's the difference between the standard 'midline' and the optional 'highline' computer?
I know it's a £50 option but am just curious as to the difference.
The VW site and brochures are a bit thin on info for some of the options....

Woody, I found that on my Passat SEL that if you choose the ipod link, you might lose the MP3 compatibility of the stereo! There is nothing in literature other than owner's manual that says the MP3 stereo is not compatible with the ipod prep.
I guess that midline is basic mpg, range, and highline has full spec's including being able to change settings like speed warnings, timings on coming home lighting, that sort of thing.

Midline is the half height trip computer that most SE upwards golfs have and can display basic info like the mpg and tank range etc. The Highline is the full height screen which has a menu to allow you to change settings on the locking system and lights etc, displays info from satnav/radio and has a graphical representation of the car. It is an option worth having imo.
