Hi guys, got home today and decided to take the Murci for a drive and half way thru the drive, the rear spoiler error light lights up on the dash. Quick glismps on the rear mirror showed the rear spoiler is up and did not go down below 50 mph...instead it starts lowering down and just before it completely lowers, it starts to raise up again...Same thing happens when I stopped at the lights...it only stays up above 50 mph. When I arrived home, I turn off the ignition and guess what, the rear spoiler continues to lower itself to a certain point and started raising itself to the upper limit and then lowers itself and started raising itself and it goes on and on and on until I turn off the battery switch in the engine bay. upon switching on the battery swtich, the error light on the dash is gone but the spoiler stays up. GO for a quick spin and once above 50 mph, the sequence starts all over again. I had to swith off the battery cut off in the engine everytime. Give Lamborghini Manchester a quick call and they said it might be the left and right motor out of sync and needs to be plug into the laptop to reset it......but the major problem is I live in Scotland.....

Anyone else experience this problem before and can I reset it without the use of the Laptop?????

Check the owners manual and could not see nay relay or fuses controlling the rear spoiler. ANy help on this matter will be greatly appreciated....Thanx again.

I had a 'sort of' similar problem, the rear spoiler would raise and lower itself whenever and would not sit flush when stationary. Managed to sort it using the battery master switch and also the centre console switch for the air scoops! Not really any method or sequence, more trial and error!!

Good luck!! smile

Sure do..GrayPaul...but its getting the car down there mate.....I could either drive doen there by not xceeding 50 mph or truck it down there. Just want to see if anyone on here had previous similar experience and solve the problem so as to save me the hassle of trucking the car down to Edinburgh.

Hmmmmm, it was something along the lines of: switch the batt master switch off for a couple of seconds then back on again, then, keep your finger on the bat wing switch whilst you switch the ignition to the 2nd position, the motors for the batwings will come to life and reset themselves (I think??confused) then the rear spoiler moves through a couple of different positions!! Like I said, it's more a trial and error type of thing but hope it helps!! smile

mine stuck up for a while too, but a high speed pursuit with a mate round knockhill sorted it, light had came on at track and spoiler was stuck up, I thought it had to with the heat TBH as I was on track for a bit and light came on so went in and it stayed up for a bit and scoops were up due to the heat but it all sorted itsef after it colled down and then had a wee session on full power and it was fine!!

Is there not a fuse for it Al?

Fuse box is under the front passnger footwell where ya'd put yer feet, there is 2 or 4 large screws into a plate covering the fuse box.

Man a miss ma car......whistle

Just a quick point i see you have a landie why not hire a car trailer and tow it down yourself ( i am assuming you have a towbar). Should only cost around 40-70 quid to hire one for the day if prices down my way are anything to go by.
Cheaper than getting someone to take it down for you and safer as you will be in charge of your car the whole time as it were.

Is there a fuse you can remove so that the spoiler motors do not move, until you get it fixed? Assuming you keep it below 150mph hopefully it shouldn't affect the handling too much smile

Thanks everyone.....I'll give freewheeler's trick a try and see if it works...any more suggestions in the mean time greatly welcome....

Like I mentioned before, there is not a fuse in the owners manual that says 'rear spoiler'.......and i don't have a toe bar on the rangie...weeping

You'd struggle to get a Murcielago on a 'normal' car trailer, you're governed by the width and the ground clearance!!

I appreciate that could be a potential problem but at the end of the day theres no harm looking into it as it will cost in excess of one hundred quid possibly as high as two or more even (not sure how far away dealers is) to get someone to take it there for you. On top of which as i said before if it was my car i would rather take it myself than risk letting someone else damage it.

As per freewheeler mentioned.......except that when I did that, the bat wing never comes up. Instead the rear spoiler just resides back to its original position straight away. When for a test drive and the problem never comes back since. Touch wood and good luck. Please let us know how you get on mate. It'll be interesting to see if this is a quick fix.........
