Anyone know who has a supply of these tyres for a griff 500? (15/16 rims)
I am waiting for quote from black circle and a local toyo dealer but they seem very difficult to get hold of.

anyone recently put them on their griff?

Hi

The 225/50ZR16 in the Toyo R888 is very, very close to T1Rs in 245/45ZR16, both in width and rolling circumference.

I have a new set of Toyo R888s on 16" Imola rims - fronts are 225/45ZR16s and rears are 225/50ZR16s - these are now surplus to my requirements.

For more details see PH Classifieds - TVR Parts, etc.

got mine from black circles but mine are 17" all round, awesome tyres for dry or damp weather, cornering speeds are much higher and you can brake much later just watch them in standing water and heavy rain they cannot shift water fast enough and aqua plane easily but well worth the comp if you only have one set of rims/tyres.

I have just got my new R888's fitted all round and driving back from the tyre fitters they seem fantastic.

I am now waiting for some dry weather to get them up to speed but they performed well in the rain.

Andy at TVRMonster supplied the tyres to my local tyre fitters without any drama....great service.

You'll need a few miles on them before you can judge their performance.

Put them through a few heat cycles and take it easy for the first hundred miles or so.

There's more to road rubber than R888s, have a read, it will give alternatives when they're in short supply
