I was shocked too, it really did get me wondering what sot of idiot thinks "hey, I'm gonna go and slash someones roof today", why on earth do people do things like this?

I'm sure they wouldn't like the bill to pay for it to be fixed.

You should be able to get a new window sewn or bonded in. You shouldnt need to pay for a complete new hood.
